Carrie Zelin Johnson, M.Ed

Carrie is an In-Home Mental Health Practitioner and the Director of Culture, Diversity and Inclusion at David Hoy & Associates. She has focused on equity and reform in the fields of education and mental health for over 20 years. She has lead home-visiting and school-based programming to improve equitable outcomes for students ages birth to 21. She has coached and consulted for organizations, schools and other programs to improve staff development and program outcomes. Carrie has served in many capacities including home visiting, individual and family skills training, community and school-based research projects, professional development and evaluation. Carrie has an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership with a minor in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She is a State Certified Master Trainer on the topics of Trauma, Race and Culture, Family Systems Theory, Children’s Mental Health, Executive Functioning Skills, Assessment and Curriculum Development, Nurturing Heart Approach and others.
She is a strong advocate for issues regarding school readiness, special education, parent involvement, and community building. She considers herself an urban farmer and foodie, who loves to paint, draw, read and be competitive in any and all games.
