Jacob O’Neal, M.S.

Relationships can be one of the most rewarding parts of our lives, and the bonds that we have with others can help us feel secure and loved as we navigate the challenges we face in life. Relationships can also be very complex, and these bonds can be strained by those challenges we face. Jacob hopes to help clients navigate through these obstacles to come to a happier place with themselves and their relationships.

If someone is looking to become more connected with their family, hoping to come to a more understanding and intimate place in their relationships, or finding it difficult to reach the point of trust and commitment they once had with others, Jacob is here to meet with them and help them reach their goals. Through Emotionally Focused Therapy, Jacob works together with clients to help them find that place in their life with love and connection. At the end of their time together, he hopes they find peace and joy in their journey through connection with others as well as themselves.

Going to therapy is a significant step to healing that requires clients to be open, vulnerable, and courageous. Understanding this, Jacob helps them navigate these feelings gently through compassion, care, and curiosity for their unique experiences. He takes the time to get to know each client and the challenges they face so they can work together to overcome those challenges. They can do this at a pace set together, and he will always be sure to check in to see how they can best achieve their goals in their time working together.

Some facts about Jacob:

Jacob comes from a mixed-ethnicity Latino family, and the family that fostered his mother and sister are a significant part of his life. The amazing experiences afforded to him by the multiple generations and perspectives within his family have shown him that it is absolutely essential to approach people and their beliefs with curiosity and care. Doing so requires an in-depth look at himself and working to be aware of how others experience him. Knowing this, he looks forward to the journey that is examining his privilege in the world, as well as the differences that affect how he views the world through his unique perspective.
