Michelle Smith MSW, LICSW

Michelle Sveiven Smith holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She works with adolescents, teens, adults, and families facing a variety of different challenges, including relational issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, life adjustments, and self-esteem. Michelle prioritizes collaborating with clients to create the therapeutic relationship necessary for healing and change to occur and creating a safe space for clients to be their true selves. Michelle focuses on empowering clients to recognize their own strengths and to use them in healing and her client-centered approach encourages you to work towards your goals at your pace. With training rooted in systems theory, Michelle will help you explore how your relationships may be helping or hurting your mental health and will work with you to recognize and repair harmful communication patterns to help you build stronger, healthier relationships. Michelle utilizes a variety of approaches to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, including strengths-based, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness strategies, and narrative therapy, and is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
