You can expect to work with a Master's Level or Licensed Therapist who must maintain professional standards of practice regulated by the Minnesota Boards of Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Social Work. In your first few sessions you and your therapist will get to know each other and begin exploring those areas you would like to address. You always have the freedom to determine how deep you want to go in each session. You may also terminate services at any point along the way with no pressure or financial obligation beyond services already received.
You can be confident that your personal information and anything you share with your therapist will be secure, safe and confidential. David Hoy & Associates are HIPAA compliant. HIPAA is the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 that the United States legislation passed to provide data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information.
We offer counseling services in a wide variety of settings so that we can most effectively help children, teens, adults and families work through issues and achieve balance.
Office counseling services are provided for individuals, families and couples struggling with problems of everyday living. In-home counseling services are provided for children and families struggling with more complex problems and are paid for by Medical Assistance insurance or cash-pay. School services are available on site in schools including staff consultation and a wide variety of trainings and workshops related to the school environment. We also offer online counseling.

Our trained therapists specialize in a variety of issues commonly experienced by children, teens, adults and families. For outpatient services you have the choice to use your medical insurance or pay cash. CTSS is paid for by Medical Assistance or Pre-paid Medical Assistance programs, or you can pay cash. We are in network with most major insurance companies, if your insurance plan is not on the list below you can reach out to your insurance to find out if we are considered in or out of network with your plan:

If you are using insurance the cost per session is determined by your insurance company. To verify your benefits for outpatient mental health services call the customer service phone number on the back of your insurance card. Follow the prompts to verify benefits or speak to a representative, ask to verify what your benefits are for outpatient mental health services. Your insurance company may ask which CPT codes will be used, our most common codes are:
- 90791 – This is the code used for your first session, Diagnostic Assessment
- 90837 – Individual Therapy
- 90847 – Family Therapy
If you choose not to use your insurance benefits our out of pocket rate is $150/hour for therapy, $80/hour for skills, and $30/hour for travel.

- You will give intake information that helps us match you to the best therapist to match your needs, this includes: demographics, contact information, scheduling availability, insurance information, and a brief description on what is bringing you to start services.
- It takes up to one week to assign you to the best therapist to fit your needs, once that person is assigned they will contact you to schedule your first appointment.
- Before your first appointment you will receive an email with paperwork to be filled out before you meet with your therapist.
